Salou and the parks

Salou and Cambrils mean the beach, PortAventura and the water parks. Before you pay, check the calendar, because each park opens according to the day. Ferrari Land and Caribe Aquatic Park have plenty of closed dates in low season, so a combo ticket can be worth less than it looks. For water in season there's also Aquopolis in La Pineda, and Parc Samà in Cambrils is the calmer option.

Roman Tarragona

Tarragona city is the Roman side, and you see it on foot. Each Museu d'Història site costs €5. The €15 joint ticket covers the Amfiteatre, Circ-Pretori, Passeig Arqueològic, Fòrum de la Colònia and Casa Canals, so three sites cost the same either way and the fourth is a saving. The Cathedral is extra.

Inland and south

The Priorat with its wineries and the Ebro Delta are further off, and the Delta needs its own day. A Priorat tasting tour leaves from Salou with hotel pickup. Quad and buggy trips also start in Salou and collect from your hotel. With only a weekend, don't try all three areas.
