Alhambra tickets carry your name, need original ID and set a fixed time for the Nasrid Palaces. The official site charges €22.27 and some days sell out. If so, try the Granada Card's own allocation or the same-day ticket office. With sellers, take care: "Optional Nasrid Palaces" can leave you with the gardens and Alcazaba only, and Granada's tourist board warns of guided tours sold with no ticket behind them.

The Royal Alcázar of Seville has slots every 30 minutes, and its ticket office sells for that day only, with ID or passport. The Alcázar of Segovia sells out at weekends and over public holidays, above all with the tower.

Free slots most visitors can't use

Patrimonio Nacional keeps its palace slots for EU citizens, residents and Ibero-American citizens, with proof. Royal Palace of Madrid: Monday to Thursday, 16:00–18:00 October to March, 17:00–19:00 April to September. El Escorial: Wednesdays and Sundays from 15:00. Everyone else pays €18 and €14 respectively. El Escorial closes on Mondays, the Royal Palace on some days for official events.

Cathedral times that catch people out

Seville Cathedral opens at 10:45, but not until 14:30 on Sundays. Free Sunday tickets go on sale at the Puerta del Príncipe from 17:00, services permitting. Córdoba's Mosque-Cathedral is free Monday to Saturday 08:30–09:30, with entry until 09:20. Toledo Cathedral allows no re-entry.
