Monday to Saturday, 10:00–18:30. Sundays, 14:00–18:30. Access ends 30 minutes earlier. Afternoon hours (14:00–18:30) on 6 and 23 January, Palm Sunday, Holy Tuesday, Easter Sunday, 1 November and 8 December. On 24 and 31 December, 10:00–14:00. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, 11:00–17:00.

Sundays start after lunch

Arrive on a Sunday-morning excursion and you won't get in. Sundays run 14:00–18:30, as do 6 and 23 January, Palm Sunday, Holy Tuesday, Easter Sunday, 1 November and 8 December. Otherwise it's 10:00–18:30, Monday to Saturday. Access ends 30 minutes before closing. On 24 and 31 December it closes at 14:00.

Who sells the plain ticket

The sellers here offer guided visits, not a plain ticket. To go on your own, buy on the official site or at the Cathedral Shop (Tienda de la Catedral) opposite the Puerta Llana, for €12. Read each guided visit closely: one leaves entry out, and says so in its title.

Tickets aren't refunded unless there's a problem with access, and they don't allow re-entry. Go out for lunch and your visit is over.

Save time for the Sacristy

The ticket takes in the Capilla Mayor, the Transparente, the Choir, the Cloister and the main chapels. The Sacristy holds the Cathedral's most important works by El Greco.

Lumina needs an overnight stay

The night visit costs €24.90. With the basic ticket it's €33, which is €3.90 less than buying them separately. If you're going back to Madrid that afternoon, leave it out. The tourist bracelet doesn't cover the Cathedral.
