What €13 gets you

A timed entry to the Cathedral, the climb up the Giralda and the Church of El Salvador. The ticket office charges €1 more. Allow about 90 minutes: once your ticket is scanned you can't leave and come back. Children up to 13 go free with an adult.

If you want commentary, the official audio guide is €5, or €4 as an app, and the tours on this page cover the Cathedral and Giralda with a guide. The Capilla Real (Royal Chapel) isn't on the tourist route: it's kept for worship and prayer.

The free Sunday is a gamble

It runs on Sundays, subject to the liturgical calendar, and in person only: the Puerta del Príncipe ticket office, from 17:00 until closing, with limited capacity. You can't secure a place in advance, so if your plans rely on it, keep a back-up and check that day's calendar first.

Who can't climb the Giralda

It's 34 ramps and 17 steps to about 80 metres, roughly a 25-storey building. For safety, people with reduced mobility, wheelchairs, pushchairs and pregnant women can't go up.

Work is under way on the Renaissance top of the tower, with a platform above the visitor route, but the climb stays open. The Cathedral aims to take the scaffolding down before Holy Week 2028.

Rooftops and stained glass

Official guided visits cost €20 online plus a €1 booking fee. For the rooftops you need to be under 70, because of the accident insurance.

Doors, bags and clothing

Online tickets go through the Puerta del Lagarto, ticket-office tickets through the Puerta del Príncipe. There's no left-luggage room, so don't plan this for the day you're wheeling a suitcase. Shoulders must be covered, and sleeveless, low-cut or see-through clothing isn't allowed.
