Finding a good show

On the card, look at the score and, above all, how many people gave it. Teatro Flamenco, La Cueva de Lola and Café Ziryab have plenty of reviews and high scores. A 5 from two reviews tells you little. Check the times too, because each venue has its own shows and they change by day.

Tablao or theatre

A tablao is a small room with a low stage and tables around it, where you hear the footwork from a few metres away. The drawback is the view: depending on where they seat you, you may see less. In a theatre, such as Teatro Flamenco Madrid, you get a proper seat, trading closeness for comfort.

Show only, drink or dinner

Frequently asked questions

How long is a flamenco show in Madrid?

Most last about an hour. Packages with dinner or a tapas route stretch the outing to between two and four hours.

Is the dinner option worth it?

Only if you want the whole evening sorted in one place. If you'd rather eat on your own, take the ticket with a drink.

What's the difference between a tablao and a theatre?

In a tablao you watch the dancing from very close, in a small room with tables. In a theatre you sit in a seat, further away.
