Theatre or tablao

Almost every show here lasts an hour, so the real choice is the room. A theatre gives you a seat and a stage. A tablao (Spanish for a flamenco venue) puts you closer to the performers at the cost of some comfort. Teatro Flamenco Triana is the first kind. La Casa del Flamenco, in Santa Cruz, and Tablao Flamenco Las Setas lean towards the second.

Triana is across the river, and Santa Cruz is handy if you're staying in the centre.

Flamenco by day

The Museo del Baile Flamenco has the most combinations: museum only, show only, both, or a midday session. The midday slot helps with children or an early start the next day.

Show only, or dinner as well

A show-only ticket leaves you free to go for tapas on your own terms. Dinner options, such as El Palacio Andaluz, La Cantaora or Sandra Guerrero La Negra's tablao, make for a longer night, and the last of these runs to about three hours. Check which menu and drinks are included.

If you'd rather try than watch, there are one-hour dance classes, and several routes pair tapas with a show. Check how late each card lets you cancel, because it varies. Outside Seville, compare flamenco shows across Spain.
