Tickets and tours

If you only do one

The island tour covers the most: Teide, Icod, Garachico and Masca in one day. Expect long coach hours and short stops. If that puts you off, the half-day Teide tour does the main job and leaves your afternoon free.

What a tour may leave out

Masca gorge. A tour may stop in the village or use the Masca road. Walking down the gorge is different: it's booked on the trail's official site, with a compulsory boat, and the trail can close for safety. Before you buy, check what your tour includes and which days the trail is open.

Teide cable car. Standard tours go through the park, but the cable car is separate unless the product says otherwise. If going up is the goal, book that first and find a tour afterwards.

Off the island

La Gomera is the classic trip, 50 minutes by ferry from Los Cristianos. La Palma and Gran Canaria are sold as day trips too, with more hours in transit. If you have more days, stay over instead.

Staying in the north

For less Teide, there's a Santa Cruz, Anaga and La Laguna route and a food and wine tour. Check the pick-up point: some trips leave only from the south. More under Tenerife.

Does a Masca tour include the gorge?

Don't assume so. The walk down the gorge trail is booked on its official site, with a compulsory boat. A coach tour that passes through Masca is something else.

Does a Teide tour include the cable car?

Only if the product says so. If you want to go up, see the Teide Cable Car page and book that first.

Can you visit La Gomera in a day?

Yes, the ferry from Los Cristianos takes 50 minutes. The day trips include it, with transfers.
