Thursdays 16:00–19:00, the first Sunday of each month and open days (12 February, International Museum Day in May and 24 September). Always with a booking, which opens four days before your visit from 10:00. Free every day for under-18s, teachers with a Generalitat card and other accredited groups.

The museum has limited capacity. Free tickets are booked four days ahead, from 10:00. The guided tour must be bought or booked in advance.
Opening hours
Published hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00–19:00. 24 and 31 December, 10:00–14:00. The ticket office closes 30 minutes earlier.

Plain ticket, museum tour or pass

Plain ticket. €12 online, €13 at the ticket office, or €7 for ages 18–25, university students and over-65s. The sellers on this page don't offer a ticket on its own, so buy it from the museum.

Guided visit. The museum adds €6 to the ticket for its own tour, which you must buy or book in advance. It's the cheapest way to get a guide, but the session we can confirm is at 12:00 in Spanish. The tours on the cards cost more but offer other times and groups. Check the language before you pay.

Articket. €38 gets you into six art museums over 12 months with no booking, and at the Picasso you enter at Carrer de Montcada 23. Picasso, Miró and MNAC alone come to €41 online. It gives no fast-track entry during free hours. See the pass comparison.

Free entry needs an alarm

Thursdays 16:00–19:00 and first Sundays are free, but only with a booking. Free slots open four days before your visit, at 10:00 Barcelona time, and capacity is limited. For a Thursday, set a reminder for the Sunday before. The wording we checked on the museum's site doesn't limit these slots by nationality or residence. Under-18s never pay.

Monday and holiday closures

Closed on Mondays, 1 January, 1 May, 24 June and 25 December. On 24 and 31 December it's open 10:00–14:00 only.
