Booking
Buy online on the official site or at the ticket offices, at both access points. You can board at either end and get off at the other, in either direction, or do a return trip.

1 January to 28 February, 11:00–17:30. 1 March to 31 May, 10:30–19:00. 1 June to 11 September, 10:30–20:00. 12 September to 30 October, 10:30–19:00. 31 October to 31 December, 11:00–17:30. Closing time is the time of the last trip.

Not the cable car up to the castle

Search for "Barcelona cable car" and you'll find two services. This one crosses the water from Barceloneta to Miramar station. The Montjuïc Cable Car, run by TMB, climbs to the castle with its own fares: see Montjuïc Castle. Check the departure point before you pay, because a card that says "Montjuïc cable car" may be the other line.

One way or return

If you're carrying on across Montjuïc, one way (€12.50) is enough. Compare any return with the official €20: if a seller asks more, the official site is the better buy.

Boarding at either end

There are only two ways in, because Torre de Jaime I, halfway along, is closed. For Torre de San Sebastián, take metro L4 to Barceloneta. Miramar is about 16 minutes on foot from Paral·lel (L3), and buses 150 and 55 also go there.

Wheelchair users can only board at San Sebastián, which has a lift and ramp. Miramar has stairs down to the platform, so the one-way ticket from Montjuïc is out for them.

Last trip and maintenance days

In winter the last trip leaves at 17:30, so go early for daylight views. It runs all year except 25 December, but stops on odd days for maintenance, announced on its website.
