Free
With Articket, children aged 16 and under don't pay if they're with an adult who holds the pass. The Barcelona Card gives free entry to more than 25 museums and venues; children aged 4–12 have their own, cheaper card.
Booking
Articket needs no booking and has fast-track entry; at the Picasso Museum you go in at Carrer de Montcada 23. It's valid for a year from purchase. The Barcelona Card can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before your booking and starts on first use.

Articket pays off at three museums

It's €38 for six art museums over 12 months. At official online prices, the Picasso Museum, Miró and MNAC add up to €41, so three cover it. Two don't: paying separately is cheaper. The real advantage is that it outlasts your trip. Use two now and come back a few months later.

It needs no booking and includes fast-track entry, and at the Picasso Museum you go in at Carrer de Montcada 23. Children aged 16 and under are free with a pass-holding adult, but several of these museums already let them in free, so don't count that saving twice. Audio guides aren't included.

Free days and hours have no fast-track entry with Articket. If your plan is the free hours, skip the pass.

Barcelona Card: the €31.70 test

The 72-hour card costs €59 with transport. The 72-hour Hola Barcelona, transport only, is €27.30. That €31.70 gap is what you have to beat in museum entry over those three days. Included are the Picasso Museum, MNAC and Montjuïc Castle, among more than 25 museums and venues. Three €12 tickets clear it, so it pays if you'll really go inside museums. If your trip centres on Sagrada Família and Park Güell, you pay for those two separately.

Casa Batlló is only €7 off. Palau Güell, the Colònia Güell Crypt and the zoo are 20% off. The card starts on first use, can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before your booking, and excludes night buses. The official site takes 10% off online.

Hola Barcelona: transport and nothing else

If your list is two or three monuments with their own tickets, you don't need a museum card. Hola Barcelona covers metro, bus, tram, FGC, Rodalies and the Montjuïc funicular. Add up your real journeys before you buy.
