Free
Every Saturday from 15:00, the first Sunday of each month and open days, always with a ticket reserved online. Free every day for under-16s and over-65s from the European Community, among other groups; these concessions don't apply to the basic ticket.
Booking
The general ticket is valid for two days within a month of purchase. Free tickets are also reserved online so the museum can control capacity.
Opening hours
October to April: Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00–18:00. May to September: Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00–20:00. Sundays and public holidays, 10:00–15:00. Closed on Mondays, except public holidays. Ticket offices close 30 minutes earlier and galleries 15 minutes earlier.

€12 or €2, and who goes free

The €12 general ticket is valid for two days within a month of purchase, so you can do the collection one morning and return for the temporary show and terraces. If you only want the view, the €2 basic ticket covers the building and viewing terraces but not the galleries.

Under-16s go free. Over-65s go free only if they're from the European Community. Ticket offices close 30 minutes before the museum.

Free slots run against the clock

Saturdays from 15:00 and the first Sunday of the month are free, but you must reserve online every time because the museum controls capacity. From October to April, Saturday closing is 18:00 and the galleries clear at 17:45, which leaves you 2 hours 45 minutes if you arrive on the dot. From May to September it stays open until 20:00.

Ordinary Sundays don't work: it closes at 15:00 and you pay.

Pairing it on Montjuïc

Fundació Miró is on the same hill, and there's a joint ticket. With Poble Espanyol, the official combined ticket is €20. If the Picasso Museum and MACBA are on your list too, compare Articket, €38 for six museums. The Barcelona Card also includes MNAC.
