Walk or take the bus

The old town is compact, and a 2-hour walking tour gives you the city's story before you go into museums. Some walk the centre, others, like the Cathedral, Alcazaba and Roman Theatre tour, focus on monuments. The listing says if entry is included. None of these is a free tour: all have a fixed price.

The hop-on hop-off bus is the classic route with stops you choose. It makes sense if someone in your party walks little or you want a first lap of the city. Some tickets add museum entry, so compare titles. On a longer stay, walk instead.

Tuk tuk or bike

The eco tuk tuk is private and lasts 1 hour, handy with children or older relatives. The bike tour follows the town, marina and beach for about 3 hours.

Tapas on your first night

Wine and tapas tours are guided tours of bars. Do one early in your stay and you'll know where to go back to.

Tours that leave the city

You'll also see the Caminito del Rey, Ronda, Marbella and the Alhambra here. Those are outings: day trips from Málaga compares them by hours and included tickets. For a museum with a guide, there's a guided visit to the Museo Picasso.
