Booking
Online only, with prior registration and up to 10 tickets. After paying you must go into your profile and personalise each ticket. No changes or refunds; if it closes for bad weather, you can exchange the ticket in your personal area, subject to availability. Minimum age 8, with ID.

Official site first, and don't skip the last step

The official ticket costs €10 and the guided visit €18, in groups of up to 30, in Spanish and English. It's sold online only, with prior registration and up to 10 tickets per purchase. Don't miss this step: after paying you must go into your profile and personalise each ticket before downloading it. The official site also says not to buy from unauthorised sellers, because it can't guarantee those tickets are genuine.

If you find a place there and have a car, that's the cheapest option. The tours on this page pay off for the transport, or when your date isn't on the official site. Dates go on sale in batches: as of 4 November 2026 they ran to 2 May, with later ones to follow.

You can't walk it both ways

You start at Ardales in the north and finish at El Chorro (Álora) in the south. It's 7.7 km, of which 4.8 km are access paths, and 3 to 4 hours in total. Your car stays at one end and you end up at the other.

  • By car. Park at the Reception Centre for €2 a day and return on the shuttle bus, €2.50 per person. It doesn't take cards, so carry cash.
  • By train. You arrive at El Chorro station, which is the finish. You need the shuttle to reach the start.
  • On a day trip. The transport solves the return. From Málaga allow 6 to 7.5 hours.

Who gets turned away

Under 8s aren't admitted, and you'll be asked for ID to prove age. Crutches and sticks are banned too, hiking poles included. It's open Tuesday to Sunday with entry times from 09:00, and you must be at the entrance at least 30 minutes before. It's a walk from the car park, so leave a margin.

There are no changes or refunds. Only if it closes for bad weather can you exchange your ticket in your personal area, subject to availability.
